Mats Wiking is a Member of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) representing the Social Democratic Party (S). He serves on the Committee on Transport and Communications, where he is involved in national infrastructure, innovation, and digital development – areas closely linked to Sweden’s growing engagement in the space sector.

With a background in regional development and strong ties to Västra Götaland, Mats Wiking advocates for the role of space technology in sustainable growth, security and regional competitiveness.

At Rymdforum 2025, he joins the panel Swedish Space Policy to discuss how political decisions and long-term strategies can strengthen Sweden’s position as a space nation.
